Transurban has identified an opportunity to rejuvenate a section of land along our Hills M2 corridor in Sydney. The one-hectare site is opposite the Macquarie Park town centre and backs on to the Lane Cove National Park.
We believe the site could be transformed into an attractive and useful public space that enhances the local environment and improves livability for local communities. The project would include establishing an easily accessible urban green space and improving walking and cycling paths for safer, quicker and more active transport between key local destinations.
We may also install sculptures and artwork that would improve the visual amenity of the area and serve additional purposes such as supporting research into clean energy.
In August 2014, Transurban submitted our concept proposal to the Department of Planning and Environment which is being considered as part of the Herring Road Urban Activation Precinct.
